About Black Sanctuary

David Alabi, founder of Black Sanctuary LLC, is a passionate advocate for community, connection, and empowerment. Growing up as an only child taken in by a large family, David discovered the transformative power of unity and shared resources. His upbringing, combined with the lessons learned in programs like T.R.U.C.E., inspired him to create Black Sanctuary; a space where collaboration becomes the cornerstone of growth, joy, and abundance. David’s mission is to help Collaborative Visionaries connect, thrive, and leave lasting legacies for their communities.

Black Sanctuary LLC’s mission is to recreate a sense of belonging and empowerment by curating spaces where Collaborative Visionaries can connect, grow, and thrive. At every event and interaction, we foster unity, openness, responsibility, and love, ensuring that everyone in the room has the tools, connections, and inspiration they need to succeed.

The 1st Annual Fundraising Gala proudly showcases the impactful work of three outstanding nonprofit organizations: DREAM!, Daisy Dream Project, and Loving You Into Freedom. By uniting these organizations, Black Sanctuary LLC celebrates their contributions and provides a platform for meaningful connections and support. Together, we create lasting change.

Loving You Into Freedom

Loving You Into Freedom was co-founded by Crystal Jovanna Ferguson and Enroy in 2018 to provide vital support for families impacted by the justice system. Driven by personal experiences with the emotional and financial burdens of incarceration, they aim to foster well-being for those inside and outside prison walls. Through advocacy on recidivism, mental health, and racial justice, the organization serves as a beacon of hope, empowering families and reshaping perspectives on justice reform and community resilience.

DREAM!

Dare to Revitalize Education through Arts and Mediation (DREAM!) was founded by Aisha Norris – a Bronx-native whose life changed from participating in an after-school arts program.  She wanted to help schools in her community abandon counterproductive disciplinary policies and instead, establish safer public schools through Restorative Practices and the Arts. DREAM!’s mission is to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline. Over the past decade, DREAM! has dramatically reduced suspensions and school violence by helping students, educators, families, and communities acquire the skills and confidence needed to resolve conflicts creatively, increasing students’ engagement, love of learning to support their personal and academic success.

Daisy Dream Project

Daisy Dream Project, Inc. was founded by Dr. Gloria Pope to empower families and children with diagnosed disabilities, helping them overcome community challenges and “Dream Big.” The organization offers a Parent Engagement Center with free workshops for parents on early childhood development, along with the first community-accessible sensory gym in Mount Vernon, NY. Through expert guidance and resources, Daisy Dream Project fosters an inclusive community, creating opportunities for children to thrive and providing valuable support for parents and educators alike.
